LOCATION AND ACCESSIBILITY OF MINING LEASE AREA:
The Exploration area is located In Wampewo, in Mityana District at longitude (Northing) 50270N- 50591N, latitude (Easting) 413876E- 4141180E.
The exploration area can be reached from Kampala by taking all Tarmac Road Kampala – Mityana Then you Turn Right 23 km before you reach Mityana, then you Take Murram road via Kitalya prison for 9km to the Mining Lease at Wampewo.
GENERAL GEOLOGY OF THE MINING AREA
The Mining Lease lies within Precambrian rocks, which are granitized, highly weathered, Sheared and metamorphosed that include, Pegmatites, Muscovite, Kaolin, schists, quartzites, gneisses, Banded iron stones, quartz veins, congolomerates argillites (phyllites and schists), with basal amphibolites facies, and granulite facies rocks. This Geological set up is suitable for potential Base Metal and Rare Earth mineral exploration.
The area is characterized by undulating hills with steep slopes. It has an Equatorial type of climate and vegetation. From topographical maps the relief is estimated to vary between 1100m to 1350m above sea level. The hydrological map indicates an average range of rainfall as 1,500 mm annually. Temperatures are well over 17oC.
